Megan and Eric’s Baby Shower

When you’re a guy, there are some things in life you never expect to do. For example, a guy would never expect to smell dirty diapers to guess their contents at a baby shower. Well, guess what? That’s EXACTLY what I did this weekend.

Okay, I’ll admit it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but I chalk that all up to the people who put it together and the couple we were congratulating on the eve of their first child’s birth. I’ve known Eric and Megan for a long time now and they’re the type of people you just know will be awesome parents (well, except for that M3 thing).

Thanks to Janna, Erin and Anne for putting together an awesome “Dr. Seuss” themed baby shower, and to Trent, who took the reins at the camera so I could enjoy the festivities (look out for him in the future, that kid’s got talent).

Congrats again, Megan and Eric! Now on to the show…

Even the most dedicated of photographers will get sick of shooting Kimchi eventually. So it was definitely nice to be able to photograph a subject that A) wasn’t fermented in red chili paste and B) could understand the words that were coming out of my mouth. Here’s my friend Rob’s daughter. Oooh, mysterious…

(And no, she’s not trying to decide what kind of Kimchi to order.)

21 Years of Service

I shot a military retirement ceremony last week and I must say that it was an honor to be part of the event. It was an important and touching occasion for his friends and family to come together and celebrate his extraordinary 21-year Air Force career. I wish him and his family the very best in their future endeavors together. There’s no doubt he will be just as successful without the “blue suit” on!

So I learned a new trick the other day for shooting babies… give them an empty cookie box. Now why didn’t I think of that? Who needs expensive Fisher-Price toys when all the garbage in the world is FREE!!
