Dinnertime

Yesterday after getting thoroughly lost on the subway and being totally overwhelmed by the Yongsan Electronics Market, I found myself starving inside the largest mall I’d ever been in. Luckily it had a pretty decent “food court”. Although that name probably doesn’t do it justice. It was more like a “food wing” as it spanned four stories of the gigantic iPark Mall. There were so many choices that I had to walk those four floors three times before I finally chose a restaurant to eat in.

I ended up having Yukgaejang, a spicy beef soup/stew.  All of the below came out to $6.  In Korea, there’s no tipping and no tax added after the fact, so it makes it super easy to pay.

As I was walking around those four floors, I ran into this little gem.  I hate to break it to them, but this wasn’t no “California Pho Restaurant.”  It was WAAAAAAY to clean for that title.  Prices weren’t bad though, $7-8 for a bowl (kimchi included of course).

In case you were wondering, yes,  CHICKEN + CHARCOAL = GOOD COMBINATION!!

I walked by a movie theater and couldn’t believe how cheap their popcorn and soda combos were.  I guess the Koreans haven’t learned the art of screwing movie-goers yet like in American theaters.
