Megan and Eric’s Baby Shower

When you’re a guy, there are some things in life you never expect to do.  For example, a guy would never expect to smell dirty diapers to guess their contents at a baby shower.  Well, guess what?  That’s EXACTLY what I did this weekend.

Okay, I’ll admit it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but I chalk that all up to the people who put it together and the couple we were congratulating on the eve of their first child’s birth.  I’ve known Eric and Megan for a long time now and they’re the type of people you just know will be awesome parents (well, except for that M3 thing).

Thanks to Janna, Erin and Anne for putting together an awesome “Dr. Seuss” themed baby shower, and to Trent, who took the reins at the camera so I could enjoy the festivities (look out for him in the future, that kid’s got talent).

Congrats again, Megan and Eric!  Now on to the show…

M Flight – Hartge

Took a trip with a great bunch of M-badged BMW enthusiasts today. Each and every one of the 90+ members of M-Flight are devotees of the art and engineering the wizards of BMW’s M-Division have pumped into their “Ultimate Driving Machines.” While M’s are pretty good as-is, there’s always room for the tuner to make their cars truly a personal work of art. Enter Hartge, one of the premier tuners of Bimmers and more. Special thanks to Mrs. Harge and the Hartge staff for hosting a great day at their magnificent facility in Beckingen on their day off!!

The European Blog!

Well, Janna finally nagged asked me enough times to convince me to start a new blog for our grand European adventure.  In fact, it’s sooo grand we decided to name it:

THE LAUSY EUROPEAN TOUR

Isn’t it a grand name?  You can either click the link above or the “Europe” option in my menu bar at the top of this blog.  We’ll be posting stuff from our adventures there, but don’t worry, I’ll still be posting my photography here.  Europe is too beautiful not to be captured.

See you on the other side!

Korea – The Final Details

As I finish up my one year adventure in Korea and I look back at all I’ve seen and experienced, I am floored by how much beauty and culture there is in this small country.  It’s amazing reflecting back on all that I’ve encountered in Korea and realizing that 365 days have flown by in no time at all.  It’s just like the saying goes I guess, but it’s funny to me that the things I’ll treasure most about my time here are the small things.  The palaces and huge markets were great, but it’s the details that make a place truly unique to me.  The glisten off a freshly fried fish stick, running into people when I forgot to walk on the “correct” (left) side of the path, the smell of kimchi in the morning… ah, the details I’ll never forget!  As I say goodbye here, my new adventure begins, but before I go, a few more details to commit to memory…
